What are financial statements?

Financial statements are a broad overview of the non-profit’s financial position, presented to members at each AGM. 

 

Financial statements must include the four following documents: 

  • Income Statement (Statement of Changes in Equity)
  • Balance Sheet (Statement of Financial Position)
  • Cash Flow Statement (Statement of Changes in Financial Position)
  • Equity Statement (Statement of Retained Earnings)

* presented at each AGM

* filed with corporate records

* signed by a director

* not presented unless first signed

* audited, if required

* not purporting to be audited if not

* comparative

* covers proper fiscal period (timing of AGM and end of statements rules)
